I wrote this song years ago. At that time, my dad passed away. I was going through rough times and was also heartbroken.
I had nothing to look forward to ... the only thing that mattered to me was music. I wanted to forget the past and go on with my life.
My friend's husband owned a recording studio at his residence. I decided to record my original songs. Unfortuntately, I could not keep up with the recording ... I had to quit because at that time I lost my employment with the Government ... it's a long story.
In addition, I have taken acting (TV and commercials) via Faces International. The reason I got involved was because I wanted to pursue my music .... I thought it would be a door open to my music career.
I remembered receiving a letter from Florida for an audition. I didn't go to the audition .... it was far from my place. It's unfortunate because a year later the acting school declared bankruptcy. I lost a lot of money.
For so many years I hoped and prayed that one day I will be able to get back into recording and redo these songs. Unfortunately, I had no money to continue with the recording. Twenty years ago if you are over 20, you were considered too old for the music business! I thought this was ridiculous ... there should not be a barrier on age because you are older than 20 or 30! It did not stop me for continuing doing music like playing guitar, piano, singing and acting. I had a feeling that one day the age would not matter any more. Nowadays, things has changed ..... age at some point does not matter ... as long as you are talented!
I opened a YouTube account few years ago and this is when I decided it's time to release those songs on YouTube.
Recently, I submitted two of my original songs to Canada's Got Talent. Unfortunatley, I had to cut my songs within 2 minutes ... otherwise they will not be accepted.
I do not have a professional studio ... so I had to sing my original songs via my kareoke machine. Unfortunately, I did not have enough time to prepare myself. I just found out about this audition on
January 15th via Youtube's advertisement on my Channel.
"Hold on to your dreams" is another original song which I have written years ago. I guess what is meant to be will be ... only God knows the answer. They say that if you really believe, dreams do come true. Is that true?
