What is DahnHakDo?

DahnHakoDo is an energy-based, non-combative, healing martial art, with roots dating back thousands of years into Korean history.  In Korean, "Dahn" means energy, "Hak" means "study" or "philosophy" and "Do (Tao)" means, "the way," or, "the ultimate truth.  DahnHakDo is therefore also known as "The Art of Being Limitless.  Its mind-body training methods combine martial arts movements with universal energy principles to help practitioners circulate blood and energy through the body, and recover the natural balance and rhythm of the body and mind.  Its goal lies in training the body and mind to become one.

More Than Just Physical Training
DahnHakDo's benefits extend beyond physical and practical, traditionally associated with Qigong.

DahnHakdo allows members to experience deep meditation, and often, through self-reflection, achieve personal transformation.  Trainer Kang explains, "As you continue practicing DahnHakDo, you will find yourself absorbed in very deep consciousness, very deep peace within.  Naturally you will begin to wonder how you can apply this to your everyday life.  DahnHakDo is a bridge between feeling a senses of deep spirituality and the manifestation of outer, social success in your life."

Another senior trainer, Master Jang, explains such a transformation, "Before beginning DahnHakDo training, I practiced various other forms of martial arts for 14 years.  After starting DahnHakDo, my point of view shifted from how I can be better at fighting with an opponent to how I can heal others, and help them feel the energy of the cosmos, the principles of balance and unity in their bodies."
